The essay I have decided to use for essay four will be my intro to philosophy pov, point of view, assignment. The essay is from between 500 and 550 word count. They formatting is two paragraphs. The first paragraph is suppose to be a thorough summary of the reading selection. The second paragraph should be your personal interpretation and opinion on the reading. In addition, the second paragraph should include the critical thinking question response. the biggest challenge with this essay is going to word count, because the word count cannot exceed 550 words total, from both paragraphs. my professor for this class is very big on the editing process, formatting, and grammar. similar to this class he focuses a lot on the drafting process. The writing from my philosophy class differs from the writing in this class when it comes to formatting. My philosophy professor has a nontraditional formatting. The skills that will be the most transferable from this course to my philosophy course, or just in general, would be the editing and revision processes, grammar, and sentence structure. the lessons on punctuation, such as comma and semi-colon usage. really the all the opportunities we had to practice writing in general will aid in bettering my writing skills, practice makes perfect.

Peer Review Essay #3 recap
Based on the feedback I received on essay three i plan to focus more on run on sentences. In this essay run ons have seem to have been the source of a great deal of errors. There was also some comments on careless mistakes that would have been caught if i would have taken the time to carefully read through my essay. There were a few sentence structure errors; i need to pay closer attention when i am structuring my sentences. If i refrain from using the word “and” as a sentence starter, it would most likely eliminate this problem. My plan for the final draft is to really take my time when writing it. I will complete a paragraph a day. This will give me the opportunity to really focus on each word in the paper. with this technique, when I am rereading my work i am not skipping over careless mistake. The smaller the section the easier it is to catch the mistakes. Also have found that working in the library and cyber loft in the web center helps me stay focus on the task at hand less distractions. Overall I feel that this essay shows a vast improvement from past essays. There was still some errors, and places in need of improvement. But the practice is starting to reflect in my work.
Course Evaluation
The lessons on sentence structure and comma usage has been the most use for me in this course this semester so far. I need more practice on sentence structure and being to tell where commas and other punctuations belong. To better this skill for me outside of class I need to read the book more and I need to take my time when I am editing my own essay. Also pay close attention when doing peer review and when another fellow classmate or I acknowledges a mistake in an essay, so I can go back my own essay and look for the same mistake to be sure it is not made in my own essay. This helps me learn from others mistakes. I felt as if my thesis statements and outlining skills were strong spots for me. After being in this class I realized they need some improvement. The activities we did in class and were assigned for homework really helped me become able to pull supports from the thesis statement. I also learned a new format for the thesis statement. This was a helpful course as a whole. Even if I did pass the Writing Sample Placement Test, I still feel as if it would have benefited me greatly would even consider talk it regardless.
Midterm Reflection
My midterm plans seem to have been success in my eyes. My plan I feel helped me great deal on my midterm. Getting that eight hours of sleep, and eating a light meal really helped me to stay alert an aware during my exam. Also I took my exam in the Community Learning Center in my dorm. This was nice quiet place where I was able to stay focus throughout the entire test, so I did not waste any time. Which in the end cause me to have extra time after completing my essay to reread over my essay a few times. I had time to pay close attention to my sentence structure and careless mistakes. Though I feel my plan made things run pretty smoothly I feel I need to improve on a lot. I need to incorporate some key points on comma usage. When I am writing an essay in a timed setting when have writers block i often start getting nerves or begin to panic. This waste a lot of time which makes it hard for me to finish in the essay as a whole in the time given or I don’t have time too much editing. I just have to submit my essay as it is to keep from not having anything at all submitted. Its very stress full. When it is just an ordinary essay, that I have a week or even just a couple of days to do, I am much more relaxed. I have more than enough time to edit, reread, and complete the assignment. This is often why some people fail the test, because the stress and panicking involved
Midterm Plan
The midterm for this course is great practice for the Writing Sample Placement Test. To prepare for this besides writing preparation, I am going to be sure I get a full night’s sleep at least eight hours. This help me stay focus being that the exam is on the computer. When I am on the computer when I am tired I start to dose off and the word tend to blur together. I am also going to need to eat before hand. I cannot eat anything to heavy because it will also cause me to get sleepy. Am also going to need to take this exam in either the library or the cyber loft in the web because when I am in my room I tend to get distracted and side tracked easily. Being that this is time I don’t have the time to waste. Also, being that we can use the editing checklist, I need to add to look out for sentence structure. Be sure that I don’t have any dependent clauses as a sentence. Grammar is a place that I know is a tough spot for me and I need work in this area so I have to be sure that I am careful with this. Also I have to manage time well, so I have time to reread my essay a few times before submitting it.
Learning style assessment
Through essay two I have come to learn that I am an auditory learner. I learn beat when I hear the material at hand. Here at Old Dominion University I apply this style of learning to the way I study and grasp concepts in class. To be sure I understand the material, class time is essential for me. It’s one of the few times I hear all the material being spoken aloud, and explanations given. When I go to study for my courses I find that reading the information out loud makes it stick better in my mind. Also writing it over again while I say out loud also benefits me as learner. Also the writing part is an excellent study tool be your brain remember a great percent of the thing you write down. In essay for I used my learning style mostly in the editing and revision stages of the paper. Rereading the paper a loud to be sure it flowed correctly, and that I catch those careless mistakes. When it comes to writing being an auditory learner does not make easier or harder. The only thing I feel it affects is that when I am writing I often find myself talking aloud getting my thoughts together out loud and it may even seem strange when there is others around. But, aside from that writing either just flows right out of me on to the paper with ease or I have force it out.
